The New Orleans Saints started out the season with all guns blazing. They have the potential to have the greatest offense the league has seen in the last 30 years which includes the 2007 New England Patriots team that set many NFL scoring records. Drew Brees is playing like a MVP candidate and completing nearly 70% of his pass attempts, which is well above average.
The Saints have weapons all round the field from RB Reggie Bush, WR Marques Colston, WR Jeremy Shockey, WR Devery Henderson, and RB Mike Bell. With such a potent offense the Saints can outs core anyone in th league -which means they are never out of the game no matter what the score is. The offense ranks in the top 10 in every major statistical category and should continue to do so all season long. The Saints defense isn't bad either, they are holding opponents to around 20 point per game -- averaging much more then that on offense.
The Saints schedule looks a lot easier then it did in the start of the year, their division isn't as strong as it was in 08'. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a rebuilding process and the Carolina Panther can't seem to get anything together. The only challenge in the division should come from the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are a good team with a future MVP in Matt Ryan, the Falcons offense may not be able to keep up with the Saints.
The New Orleans Saints are one of the 1 in 5 teams never to appear in a Super Bowl -- the others being the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions. The Saints had a disappointing loss to the Bears in the 06' NFC Championship game in freezing weather. Lets hope for the Saints sake they receive home field advantage all through out
